Jim Holland, Sr. – Founding Partner

Jim Holland, Sr. began practicing law in 1973, after graduating from the University of Idaho Law School.  In 1973 Jim Sr. joined Ned Hall, at which time Hall & Holland was born.  Since that time Jim has successfully tried or resolved numerous cases involving wrongful death, negligent highway design, products liability, auto, trucking and motorcycle crashes, and other personal injury cases.

In addition to his roots as a plaintiff’s trial lawyer, Jim Holland, Sr. litigates and advises clients on matters involving: real estate, trusts, estate planning, business planning and dissolution, commercial banking, and employment.  Jim Sr. has more than forty years of experience in providing clients of all backgrounds with effective, innovative and creative legal solutions.  Jim has tried dozens of cases before judges and juries across the State.

Jim Holland, Sr. lends his judgment and experience to every case handled by Holland Law Group.  His experience and judgment are invaluable assets to our clients.  He is also responsible for growing Holland Law Group into a premier boutique litigation law firm through a steadfast, daily commitment to excellence and client-driven results.

Over the past years, Jim Holland, Sr. has been a member of and participated in the Washington State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the American Trial lawyers Association, the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association (Board of Governors), and the Southern Poverty Law Center. He has authored Washington Civil Procedures Desk Book chapters, served as an arbitrator, and been retained as an expert witness on law practice standards. He has also presented state-wide legal CLE seminars.

Jim has served on local boards such as the Salvation Army, the Boy Scouts, and the Pearson Airpark Advisory.

Jim enjoys snow and water skiing, rowing, hunting and fishing, all with his family. He is a member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America, PADI (scuba diving), and is an FFF Instructor (fly fishing). Jim’s favorite pursuit is saltwater fly fishing for tarpon. Jim is an IFR pilot, and flew his own plane for over twenty years.

Jim has been married to his wife Randi since 1973. They have two great kids: Jim and Brooke, and five adorable grandchildren.
